About The Department

Department of Pharmacology at Shridevi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital, (SIMS&RH) Tumakuru started functioning from September, 2014.

Date of establishment of the department
- Undergraduate course: 2014
- Postgraduate course: 2020
Along with teaching & training the MBBS students in various aspects of pharmacotherapy, the department is also involved in teaching of various Allied Health Sciences, BPT and Diploma course students.

The department is actively involved in pharmacovigilance activities since inception, which has been upgraded as a PvPI recognised ADR Monitoring Center (AMC) in February 2022.
The Institutional Animal House is available to carry out animal research activities under the supervision of Pharmacology department.
The department is also carrying out Medication Safety related activities for patient safety.
Periodic pharmacovigilance related Sensitization Programs are conducted for faculty, PGs, Interns and nursing staff

Experimental Pharmacology Lab: The lab is equipped with 28 computers with computer aided learning (CAL) software to conduct animal simulation experiments.
