About The Department
Department of Pharmacology at Shridevi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital, (SIMS&RH) Tumakuru started functioning from September, 2014.
- Date of establishment of the department
- Undergraduate course: 2014
- Postgraduate course: 2020
- Along with teaching & training the MBBS students in various aspects of pharmacotherapy, the department is also involved in teaching of various Allied Health Sciences, BPT and Diploma course students.
- The department is actively involved in pharmacovigilance activities since inception, which has been upgraded as a PvPI recognised ADR Monitoring Center (AMC) in February 2022.
- The Institutional Animal House is available to carry out animal research activities under the supervision of Pharmacology department.
- The department is also carrying out Medication Safety related activities for patient safety.
- Periodic pharmacovigilance related Sensitization Programs are conducted for faculty, PGs, Interns and nursing staff
