The objective of SIAMS Skill lab is to provide a simulated environment for healthcare professionals like physicians, nurses & paramedical staff and the students from streams like medicine, nursing & paramedical sciences to practice and develop essential clinical skills, enhancing their competence and confidence in delivering quality patient care.
SIAMS Skill lab is equipped with wide range of resources and equipments to train healthcare professionals and students to acquire clinical skills. The Skills are taught methodically with the Introduction and orientation to the skill lab; demonstration of skills by instructors; hands-on practice and reinforcement; debriefing and feedback sessions. The Skill lab has various simulation rooms like Emergency/Trauma/ICU Simulation; OBG & Paediatric Simulation; Surgery & Anaesthesia Simulation and Task Trainer Room to train clinical skills like Triage scenarios, Airway management & choking management, cardiac/ obstetric/ psychiatric/ emergency scenarios, neonatal resuscitation protocols, trauma care procedures, communication & safe transport scenarios, suturing and minor surgical procedures, mask ventilation & intubation, vein puncture, collect wound swab culture, removal of foreign body from nose, anterior & posterior nasal packing, IV & IM Injection, O2 administration, NG Tube Insertion, CPR, hygienic care practices, etc.
SIAMS Skill lab is equipped with wide range of manikins like CPR Manikin, Adult Airway Management, BLS Manikin, Skin Suture Trainer, IV Arm Injection trainers, Trainer for Wound Care, Gluteal IM Injection Trainer, Urinary Catheter, Child Birth Simulator, Breast Examination Trainer, Mama Birthie Manikin, PPH Manikin, IUD Trainer, Child\Little CPR manikin, Child Airway Management with essential medical durables like Ambu bags, Artery forceps, , Umb V Cath, Neonatal Suction Bulb, NRBM Oxygen reservoir, Nasopharyngeal Airway, ORO-pharyngeal Airway, Laryngeal Mask Airway, Laryngoscope Set, Bougies, Stethoscopes, Catheters, Blood collection Vials, Spine Board, BP monitor and many more. This allows students to practice critical skills and enhance their clinical competencies in a controlled setting.
The Skill Lab also features an Anatomage Room installed with Anatomage table providing a cutting-edge anatomical visualization & simulation to enhance anatomical understanding and hands-on learning for students.
The Skill lab is thoughtfully designed with multiple specialized rooms, including a Debriefing room, Seminar room, Examination room, Observer room and Control room. Each of these spaces serves a unique purpose in fostering a rich, hands-on educational environment.
Upon completion of Skill training participants will be able to demonstrate proficiency in specific skills; Identify and correct common errors; apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in clinical scenarios; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
